Dollar Llama

Calypso-Viking Londoner, Alex Horn started folding origami at the age of seven and kept up the folding into adulthood, taking on more and more challenging folds.

“Dollar Llama” is Alex’s fourth bank note origami piece made from ten dollar bills. It was folded on Tuesday 22nd October 2024 at the Cow pub in Notting Hill where Alex drinks regularly. The piece questions the value of the fiat currency it was made from and through the process of origami transforms its worth. The emerging llama stands proud and graceful in defiance of rules and convention, yet obeys the rules of geometry and maths through its alchemy.
